Time Arts is pleased to announce Guangwu Cui: A Retrospective, solo exhibition of Chinese artist Guangwu Cui, featuring 10 ink paintings from his long career.
Born in 1911 in Yingkou, Liaoning province in China, Guangwu Cui (崔广五) is a dedicated disciple of Qi Baishi (齐白石), one of the most well-known Chinese painters of the modern era. He had been practicing ink painting ever since he picked up painting as a career, striving to continue his teacher Qi Baishi's tradition and to explore new approaches to depict everyday life. Heavily influenced by Qi, Cui developed intense interest in painting traditional Chinese painting subjects such as flower-and-bird and shrimp-and-fish, and dipped into landscape painting from time to time.
The exhibition will be on view September 6 - 15, 2019, with an opening reception on Friday, September 6, 6 - 8pm. Please join us in celebrating Guangwu Cui's retrospective exhibition in New York. For additional information or sales inquiries, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
